Made from stainless steel, this Brinell microscope is the most rugged, versatile and optically reliable on the market today. Featuring a 20X pre-focused lens, the microscope has a narrow nosepiece requiring only a small foot print and fits easily into tight recesses. Readings can even be taken on pulleys and sheaves, in corners and behind shoulders. For added stability when performing flat work, a 1-1/2" diameter sli-on base adapter is included. When you need the advantage of the narrow nose for reading indentations, just take the base off. The side opening in the microscope allows plenty of natural light for viewing. In addition, a battery operated, movable, rugged pen light can be used for optimum lighting in dim conditions. Calibrated on equipment traceable to NIST standards, this Brinell microscope meets ASTM E-10 specifications.

Accessories

Carrying Case (Standard)

A handsome and practical leatherette carrying case measures 4"x9-1/2"x1-1/2" to fit in most pockets safely and conveniently. The inside is felt-lined with a recessed area that holds the microscope snugly. Case comes standard with Microscope.

Stage Micrometer (Optional)

The optional micrometer is used to check the calibration of the Brinell Microscope. This is accomplished by placing the microscope on the stage micrometer and aligning the grid on the stage micrometer with the grid on the microscope. If the grids align perfectly, the micro-scope is in calibration. If they do not, the microscope is out of calibration and should be recalibrated.

Each stage micrometer is manufactured in accordance with standards set forth by ASTM specifications E-10, and is traceable to NIST Standards.
