Brinell Test Blocks

KING MASTER® Block

The KING MASTER® represents a true advance in the state of the art in calibrating Brinell hardness testers. It is manufactured from de-carb free tool steel, and is safe for all depth reading production Brinell hardness testers. Each KING MASTER is heat treated in a computer-controlled vacuum heat treat furnace, blanched, ground, lapped and diamond polish finished.

Features:

• Unique electro-etched surface layout grid ensures proper spacing between indentations, makes full use of test surface and helps eliminate errors or improper positioning by targeting test locations.
• 5 master Brinell impressions are clearly identifiable, certified in accordance to ASTM E-10, on equipment calibrated and traceable to NIST. The arithmetic mean of these 5 impressions is inscribed on the block both in BHN Hardness and diameter in millimeters.
• Master impressions are made by a Brinell tester with oil dampened dead-weight electronically controlled cycle to insure uniformity of testing.
• Master impressions are calibrated using the most advanced optical calibration equipment available.
• Diamond polished reflective surface finish is grain free for ease of reading even in dark areas.

KING REFERENCE® Block

The KING REFERENCE® is a Brinell test block designed for use in calibrating all portable, bench, and production Brinell hardness testers. The KING REFERENCE is manufactured from de-carb free tool steel. Each KING REFERENCE is heat treated in a computer-controlled vacuum heat treat furnace, blanched, ground, lapped, and polished to an easy-to-read grain free surface.

Features:

• Can be used for Brinell Calibrations HB 200 through HB 500
• Each test block contains 5 master Brinell impressions, certified in accordance to ASTM E-10 on equipment calibrated and traceable to NIST. The arithmetic mean of these 5 impressions is inscribed on the block both in BHN Hardness and diameter in millimeters.
• To insure uniformity of testing, the master impressions are made by a Brinell tester with oil dampened dead-weight electronically controlled cycle.
• Calibrations of master impressions are made with state-of-the-art calibration equipment.
• The special grain free polished surface is designed for easy, error-free reading.
