Examples of Dynatest Applications

The purpose of developing this new instrument was to design a portable hardness tester applying a heavy load, comparable to standard Rockwell loads. Also an important fact was to avoid the testing results being influenced by deflection, elasticity or mass of the work piece.

All this has been achieved by development of a new dynamic system, which radically differs from the common models on the market where the test load, being applied by an impact, is not being precise but depends on the reaction it gets; for this reason, these systems can be used only for testing considerable masses that are free of deflection.

With DYNATEST SC, on the contrary, the load acts progressively on the indenter in a very short time and without any impact.

This new system make use of the characteristics of an elastic component, which from load at zero progressively reaches the maximum load and then returns to zero. This component is previously compressed, and then during testing it acts on the penetrator. Thanks to this method, the test load is definite, as it is not produced by an impact but given by the characteristics of the elastic component. In this way the test result is not influenced by any deflection of the work piece.

DYNATEST SC is not influenced by the conditions of the surface to be tested and can be used simply by pressing it on the test surface.

As standard configuration, DYNATEST SC is delivered in a wooden case complete with microprocessor electronic box, output RS232C and the following accessories:

DYNATEST SC Technical Specifications

DYNATEST SC works according to the Rockwell principle with preload of 68 N (7 kg) and test load of more than 980 N (100 kg). The difference of peneteration between preload and load is processed by a microprocessor and displayed directly in Rockwell C hardness scale or in equivalent Brinell scale compared with test blocks.

DYNATEST SC is equipped with a diamond cone indenter having standard Rockwell section, and a hard metal ball penetrator.

MENU multifunction keypad to gain access to the different functions
PRINT working when the hardness tester is connected to a printer having different print-out
TOL to set up to 4 tolerance values in batch testing.
CAL to correct the hardness curve.
MODE to display the status of the instrument.
ENTER to confirm and save the selected values.
FILE to gain access the file saved (8 files).
