
Fully Automated Standard Flexometer
The Compression Flexometer is used as testing instrument in the rubber industry. Especially producers of fillers (carbon black etc.) and the tire industry use this system, also called "Goodrich Flexometer".
The test is based on the standards ISO 4666, DIN 53 533, part 3 or ASTM D 623.
This dynamic test (performed by using weights and a beam of balance).is fixed at 30Hz and working with a constant load.
The following results are obtained:
- The heat built up (detected via the contact temperature at the lower platen,).
- The specimen deformation as well as the temperature in the centre of the specimen.
- A puncture needle measures the temperature directly after the test, with the specimen still being inside the Flexometer.
- Optionally, the system can be extended by a height measurement station with up to five cooling stations. This is for detecting the plastical deformation and relaxation of the specimen after the test.
We offer the instrument either as manual or fully automated version with up to 20 specimen.
Fully Automated Test
The specimens are loaded into a silo and their identification data is entered on the PC. Now, the handling arm picks a specimen, detects its height (optional) and moves it to the preheating station (in case of a temperature chamber being connected). After preheating, the handling arm moves the specimen to the testing place. The actual test starts here. After the test, the specimen height is checked again. Then it is moved to the cooling station (optional), after the specimen has cooled down the height is checked a third time and finally the specimen is disposed. During the whole process, preset times are kept and therefore, the temperature chamber opens and closes its doors accordingly.
