Flexometer Specimen Preparation
Compression Mold
This mold suits all kinds of hardnesses. The unvulcanised rubber gets placed into the mold and then vulcanised inside the press. The rest runs off by the drain channels. In case of a thin coat remaining on the specimen, it has to be cut off before testing the specimen. The mold has six cavities. The compression mold is the one used most frequently.
Injection Mold
Following the name, an injector needle is used to fill the ingredient into the cavities. But since this procedure requires a relatively homogenous mass, it is not suitable for harder rubber materials.
