Affordable - Fast - Convenient - Precise

The Next Generation in Computerized & Cost-effective Measurement of Brinell Impressions

Brinell impression reading is faster and easier than ever before with the KingScan 2009 computerized microscope. Virtually every aspect of KingScan® technology and quality has been upgraded in the KingScan 2009. A full function computer with Windows 95/98/2000/XP operating system speeds up the documentation process of Statistical Process Control (SPC). A more sophisticated frame-grabber gives real time video imaging at a faster data transfer rate. A more rugged CCD camera features quick disconnect cables. Electronic cross hairs make reading the impressions easier than ever before. A data base makes possible storage and retrieval of test parameters and readings. The result is a system that takes only two seconds to read, display and store accurate Brinell hardness test results to 0.01 mm meeting the strictest ASTM E-10 & ISO standards.

Even the most inexperienced user can take accurate Brinell readings because of KingScan's electronic cross hairs with multiple target styles. The user simply places the camera over the Brinell impression and aligns the impression within the cross hairs. Once the image is lined up, the user presses the button or any key on the keyboard to start measurement. The KingScan® reads a minimum of 800 points along the circumference of the impression. The diameter of the impression is then calculated in accordance with ASTM E-10. In less than two seconds, the monitor displays the diameter of the impression and the corresponding Brinell hardness number. It also shows the Figure of Merit (the percentage of points that correspond to the diameter) and the percentage of roundness of the impression. All of these parameters can be custom set to meet the users' specific quality control program. Calibration is verifiable either directly with an optional stage micrometer or indirectly with a supplied test block. The KingScan® reads impressions made by all portable and bench Brinell testers.

The more rugged, better protected CCD camera with microscope and high resolution imaging chip is fitted with stronger internal wiring on a flex circuit board. The camera also features a larger activation button positioned for easy, one-hand use and a new cabling system with quick disconnects which allow a cable to be quickly and easily replaced. The KingScan® comes with two cables, 15' and 6'. Custom cable lengths are also available.

KingScan is equipped with an expanded database. By creating permanent records of test data, the data base enables part parameters to be recalled and automatically set for subsequent testing. The system can be password protected and even adapted to facilities automation.

The KingScan system can optionally come with a PC with pre-installed software on it, or you can supply your own PC with easy instructions provided by us on how to install the software package by yourself.
