FloormapVS Magnetic Flux Leakage (MFL) System

FloormapVS Magnetic Flux Leakage (MFL) System

The FloormapVS is the top end of the range of floor scanners produced by us. Not only does it locate all corrosion signals, it sizes them, and displays the data as a colour map of the area under test in real time. The stored information is then transferred to an offline reporting package which re-analyses the data using dynamic filtering to improve the sizing accuracy, produces a CAD drawing of the tank floor and displays all corrosion above 20% severity as a colour coded C scan image. The comprehensive reporting package enables the operator to display corrosion at variable severity levels, produce comprehensive statistics at the touch of a button, design patch plate layouts and even compare corrosion growth between subsequent inspections.

MFL 2000 Magnetic Flux Leakage System

The MFL 2000 is a screening tool designed to locate corrosion above an operator adjustable threshold. Once found the operator then carries out a secondary inspection in that area to quantify the severity. Battery operated, motor driven at a constant speed with an auto-stop function the MFL 2000 is technology driven not operator dependant

Handscan Magnetic Flux Leakage System
Handscan Magnetic Flux Leakage System

All large floor scanners are restricted in the areas they can operate. The Handscan system is designed to cover these areas ensuring that as much of the floor surface is inspected by the method of choice (MFL) for corrosion detection. Inspect close to the lap welds (6mm), close to the shell to annular weld (10mm), on narrow plates and under pipework with as little as 120 mm clearance.

Pipework suffers from random internal corrosion in the same manner as tank floors suffer from underfloor corrosion. We have taken our proven flat plate MFL scanner technology and applied it to pipework. A series of adjustable scanning heads have been developed enabling inspection of all pipe diameters from 2 inch to 96 inch with just 8 scanning heads. A rapid system with high probability of detection that is both cost effective and easy to use.
