The Scorpion BP is a rugged remote access ultrasonic crawler designed to allow cost effective ultrasound thickness measurements on above ground ferro-magnetic structures without the need for costly scaffolding or rope access. The Scorpion BP remote access ultrasonic crawler comes supplied with an irrigated dual 5MHz transducer fed from a pressurized stainless steel reservoir. The use of a specially designed mounting block means only a film of water is required as a couplant and the use of a pressurized system eliminates air bubbles commonly found with pumped systems. A single tank of water (11 litres) is normally sufficient for inspection of the 4 cardinal points on a 50 foot high storage tank. The system is compatible with ANY ultrasonic system and is supplied with a lightweight, flexible 30 metre umbilical cable as standard. The system is battery operated and is powered by the Sitemaster 30 battery pack which is capable of 8 hours operation on a single charge.
